The May Edit
Everything I'm Buying and Eyeing This Month
Hi Everyone,
Did April fly by for everyone or just me? I feel like I blinked in January and now it’s May but I’m not complaining — I’m so ready for summer and all it brings.
There’s something about May that is special — it’s the opening act of arguably the best season (fall is also my top contender) and holds so much anticipation of what’s to come. I’ve been spending time planting my garden (which I will be sure to post as it grows in), enjoying berry season (an annual event here in NC), and really slowing down to enjoy the final moments of spring before the heat sets in. In fact, I’m writing this outside as the birds are chirping and I’m sipping some (decaf) coffee with cream. Little joys!
Per usual, here is this month’s installment of everything I’ve been buying and eyeing as we slide into summer mode. I hope you love it and happy May!
For My Home:
Sur La Table Splatter Bakeware - I am very into splatterware as we edge closer to summer (to me this is just peak grilling vibes) and I recently bought this bowl and bakeware from Sur La Table and have been loving it. I also have shown this baking tray a few times on my Instagram and there’s been a lot of interest — it’s adorable!
Windmill Air Purifier - Many of you know that I am anti sound machine (they’re extremely addictive and can actually prevent truly deep sleep plus ~EMF city~) but I recently found out that my air purifier can also serve as a white noise machine and it’s incredible. Sounds like a fan while also purifying the air!
Dear Keaton Mini Lamp - One of my favorite interiors follows, The California Rancher, posted this a few months ago and I bought it immediately. It’s so dainty and the price is RIGHT!
Brass Pepper Mill - I know I’ve shared this before but I am still very obsessed with this brass pepper mill and know I will have it forever as it patinas beautifully!
For My Closet:
Hunza G x Burberry Collab - I splurged on this top/scrunchie set because the top can also be worn as a skirt and I think it’s the cutest thing ever. The Burberry comeback is everything — wish I would’ve saved my rain boots from 2004 LOL!
Free People Mini Skirt - This skirt is so cute for summer with some lace up sandals and a sweater or button up shirt. Easy date night outfit!
Janessa Leone Bucket Hat - Apologies on the price but this bucket hat is everything. I have ordered a few dupes and nothing compares!
Fun Accessories - I got really into beaded necklaces last summer — they make an outfit more interesting without a crazy price tag. I bought this fish necklace and love it as well as this one last summer and still wear them both! Also am eye-ing this adorable paracord.
American Flag Hat - I bought this for a trip to the Cape I have coming up and know I will wear it all summer. So cute!
For My Mind:
Kelsey Mehdipour On Back to Basics - Not to plug myself too hard but GUYS this episode is so good. Required listening for current mothers, expectant mothers, those who want to be mothers.. she’s a superstar!
Strangers by Belle Burden - This book is painful but a really important read for anyone who is married or planning to get married. My sister and I both said we would be very curious to hear the husband’s side of the story but regardless — a good read!
Catholic Study Bible - This bible is WORTH THE HYPE for my Catholic (and Catholic-curious) friends. Fun fact: The Catholic Bible includes seven Deuterocanonical books that Protestants omitted during and after the reformation, partly because Reformers preferred the Hebrew canon rather than the Greek Septuagint (the canon the original church and modern Catholics and Orthodox Christians use). Super interesting!
For My Plate:
For Love & Lemons Greek Dressing - I use this dressing all summer for crunchy greek salads but (perhaps more importantly) it’s also the perfect marinade for chicken. Eating it tonight with chicken thighs, greek salad, and roasted lemon potatoes!
Daphne Oz Chocolate Chip Cookies - These are forever a favorite cookie recipe in our house. Chewy, the perfect thickness, and absolutely delicious. Sprinkle of Maldon salt on top or JAIL.
Our Place Rice Cooker - Truthfully I always thought rice cookers were BS but my husband told me a few weeks ago (gently) that I have been undercooking our rice for years. Gasp. So I got this and it’s incredible — can really taste the difference and the perfect make ahead situation!
