The March Edit
Everything I'm Eyeing This Month
Dear Reader,
I’m excited to kick off this monthly note in March—one of my favorite months and the first breath of spring after what’s felt like a long stretch of frigidity.
During the pandemic I became obsessed with the viral Instagram account Things I Bought and Liked and hope this will serve as a little fun resource dump for you.
What I’m Eating
Ina Garten Dijon Chicken - Staple recipe in my house with either a crunchy springy salad or steamed green beans in butter and my viral cottage cheese mashed potatoes.
These Japanese Sweet Potatoes - Trust me. Divine.
Alexandracooks Easy Focaccia - This is a bread recipe that quite literally everyone can make and it is absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!
My Animal-Based Smoothie - I’m back on my smoothie game now that the weather is getting warmer in North Carolina. I do 1/2 frozen banana, 1/2 cup frozen wild blueberries, collagen, creatine, 1 scoop of vanilla protein, 1/4 cup unpasteurized whole milk and 1/2 cup coconut milk. It’s DELISH and the perfect nutrient-packed start to the morning!
What I’m Wearing
Pact leggings - I know I’m not the only one who has been rethinking my spandex-filled closet as of late, but as an active lady I can’t give up leggings all together. Instead I’ve been replacing my old tights with Pact 100% organic cotton ones — they’re cute, still fit like a glove, and not insanely priced. We love!
Reformation White 3/4 Sleeve - I recently brought this on a trip to California and was reaching for it daily — it’s perfect with a pair of jeans or sweats and the 3/4 sleeves add an elevated touch despite it being a regular white tee.
New Balance 530 Sneakers - I know I’m not reinventing the wheel here but I just replaced my old 530s for spring and can’t wait to throw them on for a long walk. I love Asics as well but find that New Balance sneakers seem to support my feet better? Anyone else?
What I’m Consuming
Rachel Wilson on Joe Rogan - I was enthralled in this episode of JRE with Rachel Wilson (author of “Occult Feminism”) — they talk all about the origins of feminism and how it was arguably the most successful and pervasive psyop of all time. Phenomenal!
Surprise, Kill, Vanish by Annie Jacobsen - My husband put me onto this book and I cannot get enough. SO beyond interesting if you like history/politics/spy thrillers.
Landman - I’ll be honest, I cringe at about 70% of this show and then the other 30% is me thinking about how gorg Ali Larter is. Like if she sold a PDF of her routine I would pay an UNGODLY sum for it and then share it with all of you in a Google doc for free a la Kayla Itsines in 2014 (maj IYKYK) that’s how much WE NEED ANSWERS. Super entertaining easy brain rot show though!
Honorable Mentions
Silver Oval Tray - You simply cannot beat the price of this oval tray I have in my bathroom — it looks vintage and is the perfect accent to a bathroom or coffee table.
Roz Haircare- I live for Roz shampoo and conditioner — it smells amazing, is as clean as it gets (while still actually working), and looks gorg in your shower.
Creamer Jar - I have shown this creamer jar many-a-time on social media and always get questions on it. It’s adorable for half & half and they make a bigger one that is perfect for milk!
Brass Peppermill - I finally caved and bought this pepper mill and it is worth every penny. Also beautiful on any table!
